Every idea starts with an inspiration.
For me the inspiration is the fabric - textures, patterns and colors. The exhilaration of creating something unexpected, fun, and yet grounded. With every fabric, I ask "How can I create a handbag that's whimsical or funky while also being functional?"
I've been drawing on this inspiration since I started making handbags in 2001, after realizing I had accumulated a lot of fabric with no real plans to do anything with it. So I taught myself how to sew on my grandmother's sewing machine.

From there it grew quickly, and my appetite for new fabrics took me to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Atlanta. Trying to blend all these influences and striking the perfect balance took no small amount of trial and error. That's usually how I do it: sit down and start sewing. If it doesn't work, try again. I still have more fabric on hand than I've even had time to explore!
I love what I do. And I'm still amazed every time a handbag comes together. In fact, I'm forever humbled by the compliments I've received and find myself smiling every time I see someone walking down the street with one of my handbags.
I hope you, too, enjoy my handbags. Thank you for your interest and support!
